My tall, slender daughter swung herself with fluid grace onto the sturdy wooden chair at my behest, to rifle the mysteries of the space above the kitchen cabinets.

What on earth are we supposed to name that space? Where old bottles and canisters, ornaments and geegaws that you want to keep “just in case” go to die - or at least to sleep, long and long.
